Alex Moore is an amateur independent filmmaker from Salem, Oregon, who recently completed his amateur directoral debut entitled, ".08" (pronounced "point oh eight), a dark, noir-ish stylistic short film created entirely using stop-motion animation techniques.
Drawing on his strong background in professional photography (visit www.alexmoorephotography.com), his short film ".08" features stunning visuals, surreal camera movement, and a complex but accessible storyline that confronts serious social issues in a symbolic, visual method.
Because ".08" contains no dialogue (or actors, for that matter), the film relies on stylistic nuances, eerily life-like animation techniques, and a stirring, seemingly ignitable original musical score by The Clockwork Odyssey to convey the implications of the film that continually unravel upon repeated viewings.
The film will hit the amateur circuit this spring, with its "maiden voyage" in the Salem Film Festival Amateur Abstract category, with many more to follow.
